UPDATES

• Volleyball: Charlett Stevenson recorded 11 service points and 10 aces Saturday as the Blue Wave rolled to their 10th consecutive FCIAC title with a 25-14, 25-20, 25-19 victory over No. 2 Ridgefield at Fairfield Ludowe.

Darien (21-0) recorded its 19th sweep in 21 matches this season and will begin a quest for a 10th state title in 11 years this week.

• Football: After rebounding to defeat Trinity Catholic 49-21 on Saturday, the Darien football team (7-1) climbed to eighth in the CIAC Class L rankings with two games left in the regular season. The top eight teams in each of the four divisions qualify for the state playoffs.

The biggest surprise over the weekend was previously unbeaten New Canaan falling to Stamford, 36-29. The Rams (7-1) dropped two spots to sixth in the Class L ratings.

Assuming a victory for Darien next week over winless Bassick, the Turkey Bowl clash could be a winner-take-all battle with the winner earning a state playoff berth and the loser going home.

New Canaan hosts Trumbull (2-5) next week, but the status of star quarterback Matt Milano is uncertain. Milano suffered a concussion against Stamford and did not play in the second half.

• Girls diving: The top 15 finishers from the FCIAC finals included Caroline  Ashcraft (4th place, 341.20) and Katie Witschi (4th place, 243.85).

• Girls swimming: Darien and Norwalk tied for 5th place in the FCIAC finals with a score of 213, while New Canaan topped the rankings with 396. Darien's Olivia Leunis also placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.14).

• Junior football: playoff results involving Darien teams in the Fairfield County Football League:
