Choose to Reuse Bag Design Contest

Those pesky bags just aren’t going away.  Choose is Reuse has received more than 150 reusable bag design concepts

from children and adults throughout town, all of which will be on display at the Darien Nature Center from May 2 – May 9.

There will be a special reception for the artists on Saturday, May 7, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The top three winning bags, from the following age groups --  3 – 10;  11 – 19 and 20 – adult -- will be awarded a blue ribbon and have their designs reproduced on an environmentally friendly bag to be sold to Darien residents. The ultimate goal is for residents to Choose to Reuse and say no to plastic grocery bags at checkout.

The distinguished panel of judges are:  Jayme Stevenson, Callie Sullivan, Sally Knowlton-Keen, Carol Wilder-Tamme, Roz Emmons, John Sini and Bill Taufic.

The Darien Nature Center is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 – 4:00 and Sunday from 9:00 – 1:00 p.m.
