Porter or Peter or Pal Joi

These comments are almost identical to those on the Darien Blog of years ago. I stopped answering then and I will do so now. The comments make no sense so this is my last response. My patience is not infinite. The Pal Joi reference is inside baseball.

Why don't you list the hours of training for a paramedic versus for an EMT?

It has to be a faster time to treatment if the paramedic and EMTS arrive together. Also, some emergencies, may not be able to wait for sequential treatment. Ask yourself why so many towns that can have paramedics have them.

If a Darien bases paramedic is on a Darien call and another call in Darien comes in and the paramedic cannot leave the first patient, then the second patient would get a paramedic from Stamford. The second patient would be no worse off than he or she would be today. The probability of two calls coming in simultaneously is much lower than one call at a time coming in.

If Darien based paramedics answered a mutual aid request from another town, Darien would be without a Darien based paramedic which is the case today. Darien would not be any worse off.

Enough already.

Stay tuned,

Walter Casey
