Real, Not Hypothetical, Response Times

Your complaining about my nitpicking results from your lack of intellectual rigor. You might want to review distance word problems in basic algebra. Remember distance equals rate times time or  d=rt. I prefer the old adage that the devil is in the details. The EMSRC reported that paramedic response times into Darien ranged from 8 minutes in Western Darien to over 13 minutes in Tokeneke. These times are weighted toward the Glenbrook station so paramedics are not making it from Stamford Hospital to Darien in six minutes. I don't think you had any understanding of what a sustained speed of 40 mph means. You also conveniently forget that sometimes paramedics need to be called after Post has arrived on scene. The EMSRC found that that doubles response times from 8 to 10 minutes to over 16 to 20 minutes. For Tokeneke, the response time skyrockets to 26 minutes. When the Glenbrook unit is not available because it is responding to a call within Stamford, paramedics must come from more remote sites within Stamford. If all SEMS units are on calls within Stamford, think of the horrible Christmas fire, then Darien is left to call on the smaller Norwalk paramedic system or not have access to paramedics. I think you characters should volunteer to inform the families of patients when paramedics are delayed. I don't think you understand how much more is going to come out. You should consider whether all Posties really believe the party line. Stay tuned. Walter Casey.
