CONGRATULATIONS: Community Service High School Essay Contest Winners

This inaugural VolunteerSquare-Patch Community Service High School Essay contest has been a wonderful celebration of giving back and of the terrific teens here in Fairfield County who shared their stories of volunteerism with us.

We continue that celebration today by announcing our three winners.

First: Absolutely each and every student who entered this open contest (and we had 62 essays from 17 schools that covered eight Patch towns) deserves special recognition. We thank you not only for the very meaningful work you’re doing in our communities, but for taking the time to talk about what community service means to you.

The winners are:

1st: Jordan Cohen, Convent of the Sacred Heart, 10th grade
2nd: Danny Ross, Greenwich High School, 11th grade
3rd: Drew Lord, St. Luke’s School, 11th grade

“This is a very exciting day for us as we announce the winners in our inaugural Community Service Essay Contest,” said VolunteerSquare.com Executive Director Rachel Reese. “This contest gave us a very honest, heartfelt look at community volunteering in Fairfield County and we are so touched and proud of what we learned. A big congratulations to the top three winners and thank you so much to everyone who took the time to share their story with us!”
