Have old eyeglasses that you can't use any more? Somebody else can! Bring them with you the next time you go to Darien Library (you could put them in your car, in case you forget).
The Dariien Lions Club collects old eyeglasses, which are fixed up and go to people who need them.
This box (in the picture) from the Lions Club was seen Tuesday morning at the front desk at Darien Library. (If they move it before you get to the library, just ask where it is.)
"For nearly 100 years, our members have worked on projects designed to prevent blindness, restore eyesight and improve eye health and eye care for hundreds of millions of people worldwide," the Lions Club International says on its website.
"In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to
become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness." And we
accepted. Today, sight programs remain one of our defining causes."
