Here's what's happening and what to know in Darien for the week ahead:

Every Monday night that P2P [Person-to-Person] offices are open, we gather in the clothing center to weed through the bags and bags of items generously donated to P2P. [...] Next Monday September 9th we are restarting our volunteer event with a raffle, open house and tours of P2P’s Darien facility, snacks and plenty of clothes and odds and ends to sort. Fairfield County restauranteurs Barry Brennan of Darien, Gaynor Brennan of Stamford and Mac Mackenzie of New Canaan are hosting a grand opening of Brennan’s Tap Room in Norwalk on Thursday, Sept. 12. Mayor Richard Moccia will kick off the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event will feature live entertainment, raffles, giveaways and drink specials. The brothers and their childhood friend have collectively owned and operated seven different establishments in the past four decades.

The community is invited to a book signing with local author the Rev. David Anderson on Thursday, Sept. 12, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Saint Luke’s Parish Youth & Community Center. [...] 1864 Post Rd.
