Darien Library Health Fair Part of a Weekend of Health Fare
You could end this weekend a lot healthier than when it started, with a health fair at Darien Library, quick CPR classes at DarienYMCA and a new drop-off box for medication at Darien Police headquarters.
Talk about a healthy weekend: Darien Library is hosting a health fair from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, then on Sunday you can learn hands-only CPR in free, 15-minute classes at the Darien YMCA.
And there's a new drop-off box set up in the lobby of Darien Police headquarters for medications you can't use any more.
No wonder Darien Health Director David Knauf says, "This weekend is looking like it will be very healthy in be in Darien."
The Health Department's flu shots cost $15 (cash or check only). The shots don't contain preservatives. This is one of the few occasions where the town is offering flu shots to Darien residents, so now may be your best time to get them.

- Provide free blood pressure checks
Darien Library will:
- Host “Yoga for Kids” from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
- Host "Yoga for Adults" from 11:30 a.m. to noon in the Conference Room
- Offer “Meditation for Beginners” from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
- Have a selection of books on health topics
Norwalk Hospital will offer:
- Chair massage
- Integrative medicine and information on diabetes, hypertension, "Ask the Nurse"
- A respiratory therapist to provide sleep tips and advice on proper breathing
- A clinical specialist in occupational therapy to cover stroke, fall prevention and joint replacement
- Lyme Disease prevention tips
