The classic Grimm’s tale, “Little Red Riding Hood,” has been enchanting children for ages. A whimsical and light-hearted version of the tale will be performed by the British Amateur Theater Group of Darien at Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road Saturday, Feb. 9 and Sunday, Feb. 10. Both shows begin at 3:30 p.m. This production benefits the YWCA Darien/Norwalk.
Little Red Riding Hood will be performed in British pantomime style which contrary to its name is not a silent production. The beloved Riding Hood, the naughty wolf and the hilarious three little pigs will delight audiences through theatrical story telling, jokes, music and sheer slapstick humor.
Adults and children alike will enjoy booing the Big Bad Wolf impersonating the grandmother sick in bed. A happy ending is assured with lots of laughs for everyone along the way. The annual Panto has been entertaining audiences in Darien for more than 20 years. This year, the production is being directed by Caroline Burke who has participated with the Panto for more than 10 years in varying roles.
