Darien Fire Department

The Darien Fire Department has roots dating back to 1895; it is the oldest of Darien's three volunteer fire departments.<br /><br />While the Darien Fire Department is responsible for its individual district, all three departments are dispatched together to any structural calls.<br /><br />The Darien Fire Department's current firehouse on the Post Road was dedicated in 1964. Today, it is the headquarters for about 50 active, 40 associate, and two house members.<br /><br />The Department is partially supported by Town taxes but also relies on generous contributions to meet its annual budget.
