Department of Public Works (DPW)

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for the construction and maintenance of most of Darien’s infrastructure, including roads, railroads, bridges, refuse disposal, recycling, and sewer systems. <br /><br />With a team of 30 full-time and five part-time employees, the Department provides Darien residents with a wide range of services. The DPW is organized into six major areas of responsibility: Public Works Management & Engineering, Highway Maintenance, Solid Waste Disposal and Recycling, Public Building Management, Parking Facilities  and Railroad Maintenance, and Sewer Collection System Maintenance.
