Once a historic train station slated for demolition, the old train station on the corner of Noroton Avenue is now one of the most valuable town assets.

In 1989, a group of Darien parents and high school students renovated the facility and established The Depot: Darien’s substance-free teen center.

The Depot is a non-profit organization, which is run by board of dedicated directors and a committed Adult Advisory Board. It’s the teens, however, who are largely responsible for day-to-day happenings at The Depot. The Student Governing Board is responsible for daily programming and ongoing community outreach participation.

Not only a place to hang out, grab a bite and watch movies, the Depot offers a wide range of recreational and volunteer programs year-round including the Kids in Crisis Youth Corps.
