puppies are adorable, but all the puppies being transported up from the South are making it hard toRead More place adult dogs and especially bully breeds in the North! We need a solution. Groups like BBR really have an uphill battle!
Peggy May 22, 2013 at 02:56 pm
I agree. They do great work rescuing, adopting and educating about the bully breeds.

We need to have support cleaning up Town Dump runoff. Many children live directly downstream.

Interesting concept. Not sure how it would sell. I am not a beer fan. I think it tastes likeRead More Turpintine. Rather have a nice b/w milk share or choc milk at my favorite hang out diners

It's about time!!!! Last night around 9:45 I was traveling west bound on Tokeneke Road heading toRead More cvs on the post road and a car came off I95 at exit 12, went threw the stop sign at the bottom of the exit ramp, made a super wide turn and drove straight down Tokeneke Road THE WRONG WAY!!!! At first as the car approached I was confused and thought it could be Darien police stopping traffic but the car approached faster with no signs of slowing down and no police lights flashing. I flashed my brights and honked my horn but the driver kept speeding down the wrong way. I was left with no choice but to swerve out of the way, and thankfully no other cars were traveling on the other side of the road. After I pulled over, I looked in my rear view mirror and notice the car continued to travel down the wrong way causing another car 500 ft behind me to also swerve out of the way. I picked up my cellphone to call the police but the car had already passed the bend in the road near Tokeneke school and out of sight. Since it happened so fast I was unable to get a plate number or description of the car. I live off Tokeneke and this is a real problem on this road. There are daily reports on the Patch of DWI arrests on Tokeneke and I think the Darien Police need to step it up. There are many, many cars that use Tokeneke as a shortcut to get to Norwalk or Stanford and I hope more people come forward and express their concern.

Alethiologist -- At this point, I'm flagging your post. You are clearly intending to post it inRead More unrelated threads to get people talking about what you want to talk about. At least the other thread was just about electric cars, but now you are posting it under a column about a child that was murdered in Newtown. How disrespectful and thoughtless.

No. They wouldn't have an opinion because this sort of story isn't on their radar. They're liberalsRead More ... and their horror is selective . In this case, their horror is for inanimate objects ... not dead babies.

Mr.Eastwood. Do you become tumescent at the very mention of "first responders"? Were youRead More turned down by the fire or police dept.at some point in your life? You act like a six year old on Christmas morning. Calm down,go downtown, and maybe they will let you sit in the big red fire engine.
Fairfield Resident May 21, 2013 at 11:00 pm
iamspartacus: No....YOU are wrong! Even if they had safety "belts" on as youRead More claim.....those are not the appropraite fall protection devices that OSHA requires. They should be wearing FULL harnesses that criss-cross their backs (which you don't see in the photo) and around both thighs. If they were truly tied-off and fell from that height with just a safety "belt" on.....they would break their backs. Whose the IDIOT now?

Last night and today went as smoothly as can be expected. I was pleased to see so many buses atRead More Westport last night with people directing commuters as to which buses to board for which stops. No complaints here.
