The Darien Housing Authority owns and manages two state public housing projects – Allen-O'Neill Homes and Old…More Town Hall Homes – in Darien in accordance with State Regulations and with the oversight of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.
The Darien Housing Authority administers the waiting list for Clock Hill Homes, a 30-unit, moderate income condominium development created by the Town of Darien in conjunction with Fairfield 2,000 Homes.
The Darien Housing Authority is currently planning for the future redevelopment of the Allen-O'Neill Homes. During 2006 and 2007, the Town of Darien granted $200,000 to the Darien Housing Authority to undertake predevelopment studies and activities related to the improvement of the site.
Although the Darien Housing Authority is located in Town Hall, it is not actually a part of Town government – the Housing Authority is an independent agency.
