Darien has two Registrars of Voters, Thomas R. Dunn, Democrat, and Donald Paul Smith, Republican.
League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters (LWV) is a national,More non-partisan, political organization that encourages citizens to stay informed and participate in their local government.

The Darien chapter sponsors a wide range of civic and educational events, such as meetings with public officials, films and guest speakers. The LWV hosts a local candidates' forum during election season. It also publishes a local government and voters guide ahead of elections.

LWV has been a training ground for those interested in getting involved in local government, and many of Darien's elected and appointed officials are current or former members of the League.

Republican Town Committee (RTC)

The Republican Town Committee (RTC)  consists of five officers and 16 additional members who are elected by DarienMore Republicans. The committee members work together to elect Republicans to office, develop the next generation of of civic leaders, and recommend qualified volunteers for appointment to Darien’s  governmental boards and commissions. The group meets once a month at Town Hall and is chaired by Harry Artinian.

The Democratic Town Committee (DTC) is the Democratic Party organization in the Town of Darien. Up to 25 committeeMore members are elected to two-year terms by a caucus. Members work together to elect Democrats to office, to recommend qualified volunteers for appointment to Darien’s governmental boards and commissions, and to study and influence local, state and federal government policy of concern to Darien. The group meets once a month at the Town Hall and is chaired by John Davis.
