Heather Scutti, Patch Mayor

Heather’s passion for people is clear in her role as a Colonial Properties real estate agent, where she’s committed to ensuring that her clients, buyers and sellers alike, receive the most personal services possible.

Before entering the world of real estate, Heather’s second passion – animal rescue – led her to spend 18 years in the nonprofit sector. There she devoted her time to managing and directing numerous programs, raising over $500,000 for animal-related charities through grant writing, end-of-year appeals, fundraising and special events, and helping to save more than 200 needy dogs and cats. A firm believer in “giving back”, she donates a portion of her commissions to local animal shelters and rescue groups on behalf of her clients.

Prior to her work with nonprofit organizations, Heather spent 12 years managing a production department at a consulting firm, where she exhibited that same dedication to excellence and personalized service.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Heather earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Oakland Community College, Royal Oak, MI, a certificate in Event Planning from New York University, a certificate in Humane Literacy Education from the Humane Society, and most recently, studied real estate at Norwalk Community College.

Heather has called Connecticut home since 1986, and now resides in the West Shore section of West Haven with her husband Ron, their rescue dog, Rafael, and a “revolving door” of foster dogs. When not working in real estate, Heather volunteers her free time as Program Director and Board Member for STARelief and Pet Assistance.

One of seven children, and actively involved in her community, Heather is a member of the Bradley Point Garden Club, the Savin Rock Festival Committee, the Westie Women’s Book Club, and the Milford Photography Group. Among Heather’s favorite pastimes are photography, yoga, jogging and paddle boarding the beautiful beaches of West Haven.
