Jenny Voelker grew up in Hanover, NH where she returned over a decade later to attend Dartmouth College.  She went to the University of Pennsylvania Law School and served as executive editor for Penn Law’s labor law journal. She practiced corporate law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Davis & Gilbert in New York City. 
After having children, thanks to her loving hardworking husband, Jenny was able to stay home with them. She was newsletter editor and co-president of the First United Methodist Church Mothers’ Group in Stamford, one of the best organized efforts she has seen for mothers with children under 5 with weekly playgroups, parenting seminars, community service projects, and special events. Immediately prior to moving to Darien, she lived in Notting Hill, London for three years. Mothers there were from all international backgrounds. But they were doing and thinking about much of the same things that we do here, and were happy to share tips and support one another. Here in Darien, through programs such as "Parenting Tweens" at Darien Library, Oasis class at Noroton Presbyterian Church, and Parent Awareness programs sponsored by the Darien YWCA, Jenny continues to meet and learn alongside a wonderful network of involved mothers who try to do their best for their children and to grow and reinvent themselves at the same time.
