Leslie H. Tayne, has more than a decade of experience in the practice area of consumer financial debt-related services. Leslie launched the New York-based law firm, Tayne Law Group, P.C. (formerly known as The Law Offices of Leslie H. Tayne, P.C.,) in 2001. The firm concentrates in the unique practice area of consumer debt resolution and bankruptcy avoidance for consumers, small business owners and professionals seeking help with their current finances. The firm delivers comprehensive consulting and support services to clients in the area of debt resolution of consumer unsecured debts including credit cards, unsecured loans, lines of credit and consumer based loans. Leslie is highly accomplished in negotiation and settlements with large national banks, credit unions, collection agencies and multiple creditor legal representatives. Her mission is to reshape consumer debt resolution alternatives by giving clients a supportive and reliable environment built on experience, trust and results that will not only relieve clients of the stress from debts, but also the burden of the never-ending debt cycle. Leslie recently added offices in Westchester County, N.Y., expanding to White Plains and Mount Kisco.

In 2011, Leslie was selected for the Long Island Business News Leadership in Law Awards. The Long Island Business News created the awards to recognize individuals who are dedicated to excellence and leadership both in the legal profession and in the community. The awardees were selected by a committee of business leaders based on biographical information reflecting career and professional accomplishments. Leslie was also honored as Touro Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center’s ‘Alumni of the Month’ for March 2012. In April 2012, Leslie was chosen as one of Long Island Business News’s Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business. Leslie is happy to share her expertise and is frequently asked to participate in speaking engagements speaking at colleges, Bar Associations and Not For Profits. Representative topics include managing debt effectively, resolving debt for the long term and speaking with children about money.

Prior to the launch of her practice, Leslie worked at a national debt settlement, consolidation and debt reduction company, where she acted as the Chief In-house Counsel overseeing the resolution and payments of hundreds of thousands of dollars in unsecured debts for many thousands of individuals. Prior to that Leslie worked at the Nassau County Legal Aid Society as a Staff Attorney where her duties included representing parole violators at all stages of the revocation process. Leslie attended Touro Law School, where she was achieved a membership on the Moot Court Board.

Leslie continues her commitment to public service as a board member and Vice President of the Work and Family committee for Long Island Women’s Agenda, focusing on issues affecting working women faced with the difficulty of caring for children and those caring for aging parents in the sandwich generation. Leslie is also a board member for the Jewish Lawyers Association of Nassau County. She also volunteers a substantial amount of time as a puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation of Smithtown, caring and training a puppy that will one day be a service dog to someone in need. In addition she volunteers her time at the Family Services League in Huntington in the debt counseling division.
