Student backpack missing with $180 in cash
On Sunday, a Darien High School student told police his backpack was stolen Friday from the Weight Room at the school—along with $180 in cash he was keeping in it.
The student said he went to the weight room after school, at about 2:45 p.m., and put the backpack on the floor when he went outside to throw a baseball. When he returned at about 3:30 p.m., the bag was gone.
In addition to the money, the backpack contained a drivers license, student identification and library books. The victim estimated the value of the stolen property at $400.
