Food writers are supposed to be impartial when they set out to write about restaurants and culinary destinations. Chris Allam admits that school work wasn't always a high priority in his life. That's one of the reasons he left Darien High School last year to attend Berkshire, a private boarding schoool in Sheffield, Mass.
