It's Carnival Time!

The Darien Community Center is hosting a Brazilian Carnival on Saturday, February 9th.

Can't make it to Rio this February? Well, don't despair.  Dust off your sequins bikini and feathered headdress and get ready to samba!

The Darien Community Association is hosting a Brazilian Carnival on Saturday, Feb. 9. Proceeds of the party will help fund the wonderful DCA programs that benefit the Darien community, along with scholarships for Darien High School graduates.

The DCA Brazilian Carnival will feature live music from Brazilian Vibes, featuring Arthur Lipner, as well as, Carnival dance performances by Arthur Murray Grand Ballroom of Greenich.  Marcia Selden Catering and Event Planning is also creating delectable Latin American-inspired dishes for the party.

The DCA is the largest provider of scholarships to Darien High School graduates, both new and returning college students.  To date, the DCA has awarded $2 million in scholarship funds to nearly 1,300 graduates.  These scholarships are made possible by donations, Thrift Shop revenue and various DCA programs and events, such as this Brazilian Carnival.  Scholarships are based on both merit and need.

Tickets to the Brazilian Carnival are $100/person and sponsorship packages are also available.  Visit the DCA website to buy tickets and get additional information. Remember, after Carnival is over, it's Lent... so join the fun while you can.

yes, we LOVE Glen Gate. Worth every penny and they always come quickly if something is not workingRead More (even on memorial day last year!!) Their staff is so kind, respectful and polite, especially with my children. I like them so much I always remember them at Christmas.
