"Behind the Beauty" Workshop at Darien Arts Center

Professional makeup artists, Sarah Giggar and Maggie Pangrazio will share their expertise about makeup application at the “Behind the Beauty” Workshop at the Darien Arts Center, darienarts.org, on February 8th and 15th from 4 to 6pm. This new two-day intensive workshop for adults and ages 13 and up is an introduction to makeup application from basic beauty to special effects.

Sarah Giggar, an expert makeup artist and licensed aesthetician, is formally educated and experienced in all things beauty-related, from skin care and shaping the perfect eyebrow, to airbrush and stage makeup. Maggie Pangrazio, Director of Kids’ Theatre at the Darien Arts Center, is a certified special effects and theatrical makeup artist with a variety of expertise ranging from horror movie kill gags to gender-bending and aging makeups for the stage.

The two instructors will cover basic techniques as well as tricks and tips for makeup application both onstage and off.  The workshop is recommended for anyone from stage performers to first time makeup users, as well as for those who simply want to improve their makeup application skills.
