Bingo Night at Tokeneke

Tokeneke School recently transformed its gym and cafeteria into an enormous sea of beach blankets to host its annual Bingo Night. With students, parents and faculty spilling out into the hallway, this year's event drew a record crowd. Bingo Night, a favorite tradition at Tokeneke, is a fun-filled and boisterous family event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the fifth grade students. A gigantic bake sale, staffed by fifth grade students and parents raised the money that the graduating fifth graders will use to buy a gift to the school when they leave in June. It was "all hands on deck" with students taking a big role in every part of planning and running the event, from serving pizza to handing out prizes. Tokeneke's own fourth grade teacher John Woodring called the numbers, another tradition the kids look forward each year. The fifth grade teachers all baked for the bake sale, and many attended the event as well.
