Dilenschneider to Show Art for Center for HOPE

On Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m., Darien Bank & Trust®, a division of Connecticut Community Bank, N.A., will host a special art exhibition showcasing the paintings of artist and Darien resident Jan Dilenschneider.

The event will be held at the Darien Bank & Trust branch located at 777 Post Road in Darien.  A portion of each sale will benefit the Center for HOPE – a program of Family Centers offering support and counseling to residents coping with a loss, critical illness or any life-altering circumstance.

Known for her still-life and landscape paintings, Dilenschneider has garnered several prestigious awards, including “Best in Show” at the 20th Annual School of Art Student Exhibition sponsored by the Silvermine Guild Art Center.  Her work was recently on display at the Galerie Pierre-Alain Challier, located in Paris’ historic Le Marais district.

Dilenschneider is also a dedicated community advocate, having served on the Family Centers’ Board of Directors since 1998.  As Board Chairman from 2005-2008, she helped guide Family Centers through two successful mergers with the Center for HOPE in 2005 and HealthCare Connection in 2008.  These mergers bolstered Family Centers’ range of services and allowed the agency to offer local families a greater continuum of care.

Dilenschneider’s work will be on display at Darien Bank & Trust until March 1, 2014.  Donations to the Center for HOPE will also continue until March 1.  To RSVP for this special showcase, email lgriffith@darienbkandtrust.com.
