OPUS ANNOUNCES RING’S END AS LEAD SPONSOR FOR FIRST-EVER “BigGER Rig Gig”

After four consecutive years as Lead Sponsor for the Big Rig Gig, Opus’ popular touch-a-truck family event, Ring’s End has signed on as sponsor for a brand new fundraiser called the “BigGER Rig Gig.” Trading in flatbeds for food trucks, the BigGER Rig Gig will be a casual evening of fun for grown ups, complete with gourmet food trucks, live music, libations and lawn games. The highly anticipated benefit makes its debut on Saturday, September 21, from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at Darien’s Ox Ridge Hunt Club.

A jeans-and-boots affair, the BigGER Rig Gig will take place under a tent on picturesque horse fields and feature live music from award-winning Greenwich cover band The Short Bus. Tickets are inclusive of all food, drinks, games and entertainment. As of this week, tickets to the event are officially sold out, as sales greatly exceeded expectations and show the community’s excitement and support of a fresh, new charitable event. Proceeds will enable Person-to-Person to assist more than 23,000 individuals in need from neighboring communities on an annual basis.

“Having community involvement is essential to the success of any Opus event,” said Jen Forlizzi, co-president of Opus for Person-to-Person. “We’re so grateful to Ring’s End for its continued commitment to Opus. Thanks to them and to all our BigGER Rig Gig sponsors, we were able to try something different and create an innovative fall fundraiser.”

Forlizzi, Opus Board Liaison Kathryn Mann, and their event planning committee dreamed up the BigGER Rig Gig once they learned construction was scheduled for Darien Town Hall, the previous location of the Big Rig Gig. After gaining support for the idea from Ring’s End and other local businesses, planning was quickly underway.

“We value our relationship with Opus and were thrilled to help them with this inaugural fundraiser,” said David Campbell, CEO of Ring’s End. “Philanthropy is an important part of what we do, and Ring’s End is proud to support the community.”
