State Rep. Terrie Wood met with Middlesex Middle School 6th grader and Connecticut State Geographic Bee Winner John Phipps to wish him good luck at the National Geographic Bee and to present him with PEZ Dispensers to give out to his fellow competitors.
It is tradition at the National Geographic Bee, which will be held May 22nd in Washington, DC, that the state winners give each other a gift that is representative of their state.
PEZ, headquartered in Orange, CT generously donated 54 UCONN dispenser for Phipps to give to the other contestants.
