Connecticut’s Most Popular Book: Have You Read It?

Connecticut has its fair share of famous authors who call (or once called) the Nutmeg state home: Mark Twain, Flannery O’Connor, Elizabeth Gilbert, Luanne Rice, Stephenie Meyer, Suzanne Collins…

But it’s a book by author Faye Kellerman that’s deemed most popular in Connecticut, according to Scribd, a digital library launched in 2007. Scribd is like Netflix, only for e-books.

Connecticut’s most well-read book is “Prayers for the Dead,” a Decker/Lazarus novel. Fictional character Peter Decker is a lieutenant and his wife, Rina Lazarus, helps solve crimes.

Scribd’s data is based on how many times the book was completed, not how many times it was downloaded or purchased, according to Caitlin Dewey’s Washington Post blog.
