Rorys Announces 2nd Annual Roots, Rock & Reggae Festival
Supporting the ‘Click it for Cassie’ and Open Door Shelter Charities
Darien, CT – June 1, 2012 – The 2nd Annual Roots, Rock & Reggae Festival will be held on Sunday June 10th from Noon to 7PM at Rory’s Restaurant at 416 Post Road in Darien. This outdoor festival will have live music of all genres and feature local bands such as: I Anabassa, Pasofino Social Club, Anthem, Finger Sleeve, and Dr. B and the Brotherhood. Admission is just $10. The event will take place rain or shine. A fun Caribbean menu including lobster and drinks (rum punch, Red Stripe beer) will be specially priced.
Proceeds will benefit “Click It for Cassie” which is a charity started by Tom and Anne Geary, previous owners of Rory’s to promote seat belt awareness to save lives of children and adults alike. The event also benefits the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk.
“We’ll be jammin’ again Mon” said Rory’s owner Bryan Malcarney. “Darien as well as other surrounding towns got behind this event last year so we thought we should do it again. Great music, great food and all for a good cause”. Rory’s supports multiple charitable endeavors with annual contributions to the The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, Katie Swaney Foundation for pediatric cancer, American Liver Foundation among others. The 2012 Roots, Rock & Reggae festival is sponsored by Mini of Fairfield County, American Transit Insurance Co., Runner’s Roost, Darien News and Darien Sport Shop.
