Short Story Discussion Group at Darien Library

"Short Stories for Long Days," a short story discussion group has been meeting at Darien Library on select Tuesdays this summer. Upcoming sessions will be Tuesday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 10. The group will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Library's Conference Room on the Mezzanine. The discussion leader is Darien resident Carroll Stenson, who has conducted several short story discussion programs and the Library, and has established other similar and popular programs in the community. Short stories about city life – classic short stories and some stories by contemporary authors will be discussed – focusing on content and themes, on characters and how they relate to our own experiences.

Copies of the short stories to be discussed will be provided. Refreshments will be served.

"Short Stories for Long Days" is part of Darien Library's Adult Summer Reading program. Adult Summer Reading is now underway and will continue through August 12. Register at the Welcome Desk, pick up an Adult Summer Reading information packet, and submit a review for every book that you read. Each review counts as a prize entry. (All books and audio books count.) The more you read, the more chances you have to win!
