  • Why go: See the singer that's been described as "young Paul Simon" perform rock and pop with a full band.

  • Where: Madeira Bar and Lounge, 25 Atlantic St., Stamford
  • When: Friday, Aug. 19 at 8:30 pm
  • Why go: See performances by different artists and learn how to wiggle your belly yourself at Madeira Bar and Lounge's monthly belly dance night.

  • Why go: See the work of twelve Fairfield County residents who explore life in coastal Connecticut. The artists incorporate a variety of genres into their work, from landscapes to contemporary mapping.

  • When: Sunday, Aug. 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Why go: Explore the Norwalk Islands by boat. A guide will lead the way, and participants will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch on one of the islands.
