Darien Family Dental Makes X-Rays Easier With Digital Panorex Device

Dr. James Diette of Darien Family Dental Care says the new x-ray will not only improve the overall patient experience at his office, but also the the quality of the results in procedures such as porcelain veneers or dental implants.

, located at 722 Post Road, has reportedly purchased a digital panorex device for taking detailed, accurate x-ray images of patients' teeth.

The panorex digital x-ray machine takes higher resolution, panoramic images of the patient's entire mouth in one simple step, thus making the process of taking x-rays faster and simpler. Rather than just taking images of the patient's teeth, it captures the entire oral structure, thus greatly aiding dentists and oral surgeons in finding cavities, diagnosing periodontal bone loss, pinpointing dental pain sources, identifying impacted wisdom teeth and placing dental implants, according to a press release. What's more it uses a lower radiation dose than standard x-rays.
