Nielsen's Florist Celebrates 70 Years This Weekend

Nielsen's Florists of Darien turns 70 years old this year.

The following news release is from Nielsen's Florist of Darien:

Seventy years in business is certainly something to be proud of, even shout about and that is certainly what Nielsen’s Florist of Darien intends to do.

To mark this spectacular event, Nielsen’s will be hosting a flower show extravaganza entitled “A Celebration of Time” over the weekend of April 4th-6th. Customers, new and old, are encouraged to come in and view Nielsen’s finest flowers creatively displayed throughout the showroom.

Expect vibrant colors, tropical and classic flowers with refreshments available throughout the day. There will also be the opportunity to speak with their designers and meet the vendors that supply Nielsen’s with all their flowers from across the world.

Nielsen’s has long been proud to support and serve their community so it seems only appropriate that they put on a show for everyone to enjoy. With a family history starting in 1944, Nielsen’s is still currently family owned and run, with third generation, Sandy Nielsen Baumann managing the store.

When Hilda and Christian Nielsen first began the store in 1944, it was a simple one room flower shop that they bought from the Isely family. Over the years, it has now grown to include a vast conservatory, outdoor pergola and an extensive showroom of home décor items.

Stop by any time from 9-5 on Friday, Saturday or Sunday April 4th, 5th or 6th for Nielsen’s Flower Extravaganza, “A Celebration of Time”.
