Del Col and Graham Ski on to Team Connecticut
Darien, CT. February 4, 2014 – Two Darien High School Ski Team members skied their way onto Team Connecticut. Peter Del Col and Katharine Graham, both Co-Captains, successfully competed with 100 other skiers to earn one of the twelve spots on the boys and girls Team Connecticut. They will participate in the Eastern High School Championships at Attitash Mountain in New Hampshire the weekend of March 7, 8, and 9, 2014.
The Shoot-out for Team Connecticut is held each year to determine the Connecticut High School skiers who compete in the Northeast regional competition. Several members of the Darien High School Ski Team were nominated to participate in the Giant Slalom event held on January 27, 2014 at Mt. Southington which is the first step in the Shoot-out series. A slalom race, the second race in the series, was held on February 4, 2014. The combined scores of the giant slalom and slalom races were used to select the final 12 boys and 12 girls that make up Team Connecticut.
