Darien Leaders Cut Ribbon on 'Intimate Moments' Department

A bipartisan group marked the opening of Helen Ainson Darien's new intimate apparel section.

Consensus may be hard to come by during campaign season, but Darien leaders found a bit of common ground Thursday in the lingerie section.

As well-wishers marked the opening of 's new "Intimate Moments" department, Republican Jayme Stevenson and Democrat John Lundeen — their respective parties' nominees for first selectman — were among the local pols in attendance.

"We have decided to fulfill a need for the women in town," said owner Erica Jensen, who led the ribbon cutting ceremony. "We will no longer have to send our customers out of town to buy lingerie … supporting a major theme of the to buy locally."
