Game, Set, Budget: The Representative Town Meeting for FY 2011-12 at its meeting on Monday, fixing the mill rate at 12.20. The approval was not without objections, as several members expressed concerns about the ballooning cost of special education that fueled a 6.7 percent increase in Board of Education spending. The final tally was 55-20, with two abstentions.

Bulk Pickup: Darien's  continues today and runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays through June 21. Residents must make appointments (one free per household) using the town's service request form or by calling 203-656-7374.

Second Chance Plant Sale: Today from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the will hold its Second Chance Plant Sale in the DCA's greenhouse. Get three plants for the price of two.

Auditions: The Catherine Lindsey Actors/Playwrights Workshop will hold for its public performances at 7 p.m. in the . On June 12, the workshop will stage a reading at the library of selections from six plays chosen by the Darien Library Committee. .
