'Gutter Swiper'? Man Charged with Leaf Blower, Copper Gutter Thefts

Darien police arrested a 43-year-old man on accusations that he stole leaf blowers last year and copper gutters earlier this year.

Darien police on Friday announced the arrest of a 43-year-old man they accuse of helping to steal four backpack leaf blowers last year and two copper gutters this year.

Police said Paul Kurensky of Norwalk worked with Christopher Rodia, 44, of Vollmer Avenue, Norwalk, in stealing the leaf blowers.

Last October, police said Rodia had stolen four backpack leaf blowers on July 18 from a landscaper's trailer while it was parked in front of a home on Peterick Lane. Rodia had also been arrested in a similar case by Norwalk police.

Kurensky, of Union Street in Norwalk, was arrested on charges of third-degree larceny, three counts of fifth-degree larceny and one count of simple trespass. He was held on $10,000 bond Friday (today) before appearing in state Superior Court in Stamford later in the day.
