More Letters Endorsing Shannon Silsby for Board of Ed

John and Catherine Joseph write: "While serving on the Royle PTO she [Silsby] has implemented numerous process improvements using available technologies that make routine tasks remarkably more efficient, measurable and cost effective."

These letters to the editor were recently submitted in support of Shannon Silsby's candidacy for the Board of Education:

To the editor:

We are writing in full support of Shannon Silsby for the Darien Board of Education. Shannon is an amazing woman with great energy and passion.

In addition to being a mother of four wonderful children, PTO Co-President and Vice Chair of the Council of Darien School Parents (the umbrella organization for the Darien PTO), Shannon is also an accomplished business woman.

It is this skill set that makes Shannon uniquely qualified to be part of the BOE Leadership. Shannon is a natural leader with an engaging personality. Her professional experience gives her a propensity to analyze situations objectively, see solutions and measure the impact of change.  She is an innovator of improvements.

Shannon sees beyond “what has always been done” and she is constantly raising the bar. While serving on the Royle PTO she has implemented numerous process improvements using available technologies that make routine tasks remarkably more efficient, measurable and cost effective. Most of all she listens to the parents and families of our community!

It is clear the BOE needs to first resolve the special education crisis.  BOE also has the monumental tasks of:

1. Solving space issues which will impact our schools in the next few years
2. Implementing long-term transparency for our school policies to instill full confidence in our school system at every level
3.  Implementing a technology-central education system that enriches the learning environment.
4. Insuring our education system produces high caliber individuals who we are all proud to call our neighbors.

Shannon has a keen understanding of the central role education plays in our community and a vision for the future.

We will all benefit with Shannon Silsby on the Darien Board of Education.  She will be a tireless worker who is committed to achieving excellence in our schools.

Please join us in voting for Shannon Silsby on Nov. 5.

John & Catherine Josef
