At Home in Darien
Annual Luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2013
Darien, Connecticut – September 20, 2013 –The fifth Annual
Luncheon for At Home in Darien (formerly known as Aging in Place+Gallivant),
will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at The Darien Community Association, 274
Middlesex Road. It is sponsored by At
Home in Darien and The Darien Community Association.
The
guest speaker will be Dr. Stephen G. Jones, the Chief Safety Officer and
Director of Outpatient Medicine, Medical Education and Geriatrics at Greenwich
Hospital, part of the Yale New Haven Health System. The title of Dr. Jones’ presentation is
“Laugh Twice and Call Me in the Morning”.
Dr.
Jones, a recognized expert on Alzheimer's, aging, and patient safety has
lectured widely and is a featured medical commentator on television news
programs and many national magazines and leading U.S. newspapers. At Home in Darien Executive Director, Gina
Blum notes, “Being happy with oneself is a recognized factor in a healthy aging
process. Dr. Jones will share examples
and offer tips. Attendees should come
prepared to laugh.”
This is a free presentation and lunch for all Darien seniors. Lunch will be held from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. Attendees are invited to come at 11:30am to
browse the information tables and to meet with staff and Board members. RSVP is
