JR FOREVER 7th Annual Memorial Walk/Run 2014 - Sunday, October 5

JR FOREVER 7th Annual Memorial Walk/Run

The 2013 JR Forever Memorial Walk will take place this Sunday at Pear Tree Point Beach in Darien. The Walk will go along its traditional 1.5 mile course around Pear Tree Point.

Sunday, October 6th at 1:15 PM.   Registration begins at 12:30 PM
This year, the walk welcomes an assortment of pre- and post-walk activities including  the Darien High School Varsity Lacrosse Team with fun practice tips Flair Fitness, Kempo Academy of Martial Arts and a visit from the Game Truck. The Noroton Heights Fire Department will be showing off three huge firetrucks and Post 53 will be giving tours of their vehicle.

The JR Forever Memorial Walk has become an inspiration to many as it not only provides entertainment to all but it raises funds for so many truly deserving charities. The walk this year honors a young woman who lost her life to a brain tumor as JR Schoen did 5 years ago. This young woman was Shannon Dunleavy. Sunday's walk will celebrate both Shannon’s and  JR’s lives.
On-line registration and other information, as well as additional information about the Walk, JR’s Ray of Hope, and the JR Schoen Memorial Foundation, can be found at www.jrschoen.org

Registration is $25 per person or $100 per family. Additional donations are welcome.  Day of event registration is available, however, only first 250 registrants receive a commemorative t-shirt.

Food and drinks will also be available.  This year, Darien High School Lacrosse team members will be on hand before the walk for a lacrosse demonstration. The Noroton Heights Fire Department will have a full-sized fire truck on-site.  After the event, Zumba and Karate demonstrations will entertain the family.
