SWRMPO Meeting

The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (SWRMPO) will meet on Jan. 28, 2010 to discuss transportation policy, programs and projects that concern the South Western Region.

The meeting agenda includes: action items regarding the 2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and appointment of the SWRMPO Representative and Alternates to the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Region 1 Regional Planning Team. Joan McDonald, Commissioner of the CT Department of Economic Development, will also be present to brief the SWRMPO on the CT Strategic Economic Development Plan.

The meeting will be held at the Norwalk Transit District, located at: 275 Wilson Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854 and will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. The meeting agenda is available at http://www.swrpa.org/Default.aspx?About=123

The SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of the South Western Region's eight towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton; and the directors of the Region's transit districts. As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning, and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.

The SWRMPO meets the on the fourth Thursday of every month at the Norwalk Transit District. The public is invited to participate.
