Can You Help This Darien Woman Kick Her Cancer to the Curb?

Sara Sibley of Darien says she hates asking for money, but she needs to raise funds for her struggle to overcome breast cancer.

"As reluctant as I was to agree to set up this site," the 27-year-old wrote on her new Web page at GoFundMe.com. an online forum for people raising money for various causes, "I'm heeding the advice of my loved ones and asking for financial help in my fight against breast cancer.

"With surmounting medical bills, at least two additional surgeries, months of chemo treatments and a lot of time out of work, I am faced with having to swallow my pride and admit I can't do it alone."

As of 4:15 p.m., Tuesday, after starting her campaign on Monday, she's more than a quarter of the way toward her goal of raising $10,000. For more information about the campaign, click through on the GoFundMe window above.
