Homes on Video: Modernist Goodyear House & Others

These videos showing houses for sale in Darien and Rowayton, all posted recently on YouTube.

Goodyear House, a modern home designed by John Johansen, who, until he died last October, was the last surviving member of The Harvard Five, is for sale, and therefore on display online.

Attached to this article is a video of the house on 5 Settler's Tr. You can also take a tour online.

According to the YouTube Web page where the video appears:

Goodyear House is a magnificent example of American mid-century modernist architecture. Larger than most, the house is an echo of classical Palladian symmetry comprised of a large central pavilion which is cantilevered and connected by bridges to two flanking pavilions. The interior is spacious and walls of glass allow for views of beautiful grounds with large expanse of lawn, mature perennial gardens and skating pond.

The real estate agents for the house are Nancy Dauk of Halstead Property in Darien and Inger Stringfellow at William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty in New Canaan.
