Marshmallow Pops Occupy Kids & Make Great Party Favors

Marshmallow pops are not only pretty to look at and are beyond yummy but are so much fun to make with your children ... the next time the kids are bored and want to try something new.

It is also a great project to do with your children for "back to school" functions and bake sales. You can really get creative with a variety of candies like nonpareils, sprinkles, sugar crystals, coconut, melted chocolate, crushed nuts, or graham cracker crumbs (smores) to create these tasty marshmallow fun pops!

Let kids pick their favorite colored treats for a birthday party, upcoming Halloween or holiday party using festive colors and sprinkles for the pops. The possibilities are endless for this sweet activity.

They also make beautiful and impressive favors to hand out at your next party. They are just as stylish as cake pops but a whole lot easier to make! I just made three dozen for a birthday party for my friend.

Here's how:

Here is how to make these adorable pops. 

Insert lollipop sticks into marshmallows, then submerge one marshmallow at a time in water.

Blot off the excess water with a paper towel, hold the marshmallow over a plate and shake sprinkles over it to coat.

Prop up in a cup or foam block to dry.

For chocolate candy coated pops:

Insert a lollipop stick into each of the marshmallows stopping about 1/8 inch under the top of the marshmallow. Put each of the topping ingredients into a separate small bowl or plate. 

Lay out the sheets of wax paper on a large platter.

In separate bowls, melt the candy coating in a microwave on 30 second bursts making sure to stir between each 30 seconds. 

Roll the sides of a marshmallow in either the vanilla or chocolate candy coating.

Have a small spoon handy to smooth out the coating on the marshmallow if it’s too thick in a particular area. 

Dip the top side of the marshmallow in the candy coating. Dip the sides and top of the coated marshmallow into any one or more of the toppings.

Then lay the candy coated marshmallow top side down on to the wax paper and let cool. 

Repeat the steps above for the remaining marshmallows.
