Darien, Rowayton post gains in latest real estate update:
Darien and Rowayton posted gains in real estate activities in the latest Darien MLS year-to-date comparison report out today.
Both communities showed gains in sales and sale volume compared with the 2011 year-to-date period.
Residential sales in Darien were 254 by the end of November this year compared with 211 last year, an increase of 20.4 percent.
Sales volume in Darien was $388,816,112 compared with $354,984,508 last year, a 9.5 percent gain.
However, average sale price in Darien was $1,530,772 compared with $1,682,391, a drop of 9 percent.
Rowayton residential sales were 48 this year through the end of November compared with 45 last year.
Sales volume increased 10.1 percent from $62,562,000 to $68,865,000.
Average sale price was up 3.2 percent from $1,390,267 to $1,434,688.
