Letter: Vickie Riccardo Supports Democrats for State Rep., Board of Ed

In her letter to the editor, Vickie Riccardo says she supports fellow Democrats Rob Werner for state representative and Patty McCormick and Katie Stein for Board of Education.

To the editor:

State Representative candidate Rob Werner (141st District) is an attorney who has the skills to craft meaningful legislation to address local concerns within the State's frame-work. No matter your feelings about Hartford, we do play in the State's yard.

As a Democrat in the Democratic Party-controlled Assembly, Rob's pragmatic Darien voice is more likely to be heard than the incumbent's, who, after two unchallenged terms, has not successfully influenced her peers to amend Affordable Housing Statute 8-30g.

Patty McCormick and Katie Stein are exceptional Board of Education candidates. Smart and well prepared, both promise to probe policy and program issues to achieve balance between needs and resources, and to deploy Darien's public education dollars effectively and efficiently in the classroom and for facilities.

Make a difference (and good choices). Vote Werner for State Rep., and McCormick and Stein for the Board of Education on No. 6.
