Bailey Avenue Home Invasion Arrests

Press Release Issued by Darien Police Department at 7:30 p.m.

The Darien Police Detective Division arrested five individuals responsible for the Home Invasion that took place on Dec. 11, 2009 on Bailey Ave.  Working in conjunction with the Stamford Police Department, suspect information was developed and subsequent investigation led to the five arrests. The arrests took place at various times and locations throughout the day.

Four of the suspects in custody are youthful offenders which prohibits the release of their names and personal information. They are all being held on one hundred thousand dollar bonds. A fifth suspect, Dylan Edward Carswell, age 18, of 163 Prudence Drive Stamford, is also in custody and being held on a one million dollar bond. All five suspects are being charged with the following:

  • Home Invasion, 53a-100a
  • Conspiracy To Home Invasion, 53a-48 to 53a-100a
  • Burglary 1st Degree, 53a-101
  • Conspiracy To Burglary 1st Degree, 53a-48 to 53a-101
  • Assualt First Degree, 53a-59
  • Conspiracy To Assault First Degree, 53a-48 to 53a-59
  • Criminal Attempt At Robbery 1st Degree, 53a-49 at 53a-134

The suspects are scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Dec. 16, 2009.  The Detective Division has determined that the house on Bailey Ave. was targeted by the suspects and that this incident is considered isolated.  No further arrests are expected at this point in the investigation.
