An 18-year-old was arrested after he punched his mother during an argument in their home on Leuwarden Road, police said.
Police were called to the home by the mother at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Police said the son punched his mother on the left side of her face, resulting in redness and swelling, but she declined treatment at a hospital.
Police charged the son with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault. He was released on a written promise to appear April 2 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
