Darien Man Arrested in Massage Parlor Raid

Stamford police said that in raiding a massage parlor where prostitution was suspected, they found a Darien man in the process of culminating a sex act with a prostitute and arrested both.

Stamford police arrested a 58-year-old Darien man on charges of patronizing a prostitute when they raided a massage parlor.

The Stamford Police Department Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit executed search warrants at four locations in a Feb. 15 operation searching out illegal massage parlor operations, police announced.

In raiding the Aloha Spa, 1055 E. Main St., police said, they found Daniel Drake, 58, of Waldon Rd., Darien, in flagrante delicto—in the process of culminating a sex act—with Aizi Yin, 44, when they were discovered.

Drake was charged with patronizing a prositute. Yin, 44, a resident of the Aloha Spa, was charged with prostitution.

Police were joined by Stamford Health Department, Stamford Building Department and the Stamford Fire Marshal’s Office in raiding these massage parlors:

  • Palm Tree Spa, 985 E. Main St. - Four summons issued for massage therapy without a license and one summons issued for interfering with police.
  • Apple Salon, 934 E. Main St. - Two summons issued for massage therapy without a license.
  • Swedish Health Spa, 197 Main St. - Three summons issued for massage therapy without a license.

Police said they had received numerous complaints from the community regarding these establishments, including claims that acts of prostitution were being performed at these locations.

Police seized approximately $5,000 in the raids, as well as condoms at the Aloha Salon, the Palm Tree Spa and the Swedish Health Spa. A followup investigation will be conducted by all agencies involved, police said.
