Darien Man Faces Felony Robbery Charges in PA

A man is facing felony robbery and criminal conspiracy charges and the possibility of more than one decade in prison following a Nov. 30 incident at a 7-Eleven in Pennsylvania, police say.

Dante Pagliarulo, 21, and another man are accused of using an air-soft rifle to acquire an undisclosed amount cash and scratch-off lottery tickets during the . According to the criminal complaint, Pagliarulo was holding the gun during the heist.

One employee was in the 24-hour store at the time, police say. He wasn’t injured, according to police.

Pagliarulo was arraigned Dec. 13 and held on $25,000 bond in Allegheny County Jail. His alleged accomplice—21-year-old Stefan Edward Drzemiecki—posted $1,000 bond.

According to Connecticut Department of Justice records, Pagliarulo had served a six-month suspended sentence and 18 months’ probation after he pleaded guilty to underage drinking. Police records show that he allegedly had been involved in a one-vehicle accident in Darien, in the area of Hollow Tree Ridge and Colony roads where alcohol was a factor.

The criminal complaint against Pagliarulo lists Connecticut as his residence. A preliminary hearing in the new case is scheduled for Wednesday.

Pagliarulo is originally from Darien and is currently a student at the Culinary Institute in Pittsburgh, police said.
