Officers will be stationed at the Old Kings Highway North I-95 overpass from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to check for seatbelt and safety seat use.

"Aggressive enforcement of safety belt, child safety seat, speed, and DUI laws will remind motorists to use good highway safety sense, especially during the highly traveled summer months," a statement from the campaign reads.

The numbers bear out the safety value of seatbelts: 75 percent of passengers who are thrown from a vehicle during an accident are killed, according to figures provided by the program, but the percentage of occupants ejected falls from 22 percent to 1 percent when seatbelts are in use.
